TWELVE BULLETS, ONE DREAM

On January 10, 2014, my life changed forever.

Twelve bullets entered my body.

A robbery became a tragedy.

A normal night became a fight for survival.

I lost my ability to walk.

I lost the life I once knew.

But I never lost my hope.

Recovery taught me many lessons.

I learned that strength comes from within.

I learned that family is priceless.

I learned that faith can guide us through our darkest moments.

I learned that the human spirit is stronger than any obstacle.

Wheelchair tennis gave me a second chance.

Education gave me purpose.

My family gave me strength.

My faith gave me hope.

Today, I continue to move forward.

I continue to train.

I continue to compete.

I continue to study.

I continue to dream.

Many people see the wheelchair first.

I want them to see the man.

I want them to see the athlete.

I want them to see the survivor.

This book is not only about twelve bullets.

It is about resilience.

It is about courage.

It is about refusing to surrender.

No matter how difficult life becomes, there is always another chapter waiting to be written.

The bullets changed my body.

They did not destroy my dreams.

My story continues.

My journey continues.

And my dream continues.

One dream.

One life.

One purpose.

Twelve Bullets.

One Dream.
